Πληροφορίες για το single
Το τραγούδι είναι μια αναφορά στη φωτογραφία του πλανήτη Γη που τραβήχτηκε από το διαστημικό σκάφος Voyager 1 στις 14 Φεβρουαρίου 1990. Αποτελεί επίσης μια εννοιολογική συνέχεια του τραγουδιού “Prototypes / Replicas” το οποίο δημοσιεύθηκε το καλοκαίρι του 2020 και το οποίο διερευνά το φιλοσοφικό ζήτημα της φύσης έναντι της ανατροφής.
Το “Pale Dot” απεικονίζει το ίδιο υπαρξιακό ζήτημα από μια πιο μακρινή οπτική γωνία, παρατηρώντας την ανθρώπινη συμπεριφορά και την αλληλεπίδραση μεταξύ των ανθρώπων και του πλανήτη μας από το διάστημα.
Το τραγούδι συνοδεύεται επίσης από ένα μουσικό βίντεο το οποίο βασίζεται στο βιβλίο του Carl Sagan με τίτλο “Pale Blue Dot” και δημιουργήθηκε από το σχεδιαστικό project GriangG ενώ ο σχολιασμός έγινε σε συνεργασία του καλλιτέχνη με τον Carlos Non Somnia.

Λίγα λόγια για τον καλλιτέχνη
Οι Sidus είναι ένα post rock instrumental one-man band με έδρα το Βερολίνο το οποίο δημιουργήθηκε από τον μπασίστα Σπύρο Ολιβώτο ο οποίος είναι πτυχιούχος Γεωλογίας.
Εκτός των Sidus, έχει υπάρξει μέλος σε σχήματα πολλών διαφορετικών styles όπως στους thrashers Turbulence, τους death metallers Kinetic και στους pop rockers Dodo Origami ως μπασίστας, στους metalcorers Breathe in Suffering ως κιθαρίστας ενώ έχει συνεισφέρει ως guests σε αρκετά κομμάτια σε δουλειές σχημάτων όπως οι The Abyss Inside Us και Ayfel. Επίσης έχει συμμετάσχει στον Διεθνή Διαγωνισμό Σύνθεσης για ταινία animation του Μεγάρου Μουσικής με το τραγούδι “Prototypes / Replicas” το 2017.
Παράλληλα με τις μουσικές του δραστηριότητες ασχολείται με Social media management και το ψηφιακό marketing.

“Seasons Reversed” EP. To debut EP κυκλοφόρησε τον Νοέμβριο του 2020 σε κινηματογραφικό, post rock / metal ύφος και επιρροές από God Is An Astronaut, Explosions In the Sky αλλά και τους Deftones και τον Hans Zimmer.
“Acoustic Tales” EP. Κυκλοφόρησε τον Μάρτιο του 2021 και περιέχει ακουστικές versions των “Envy”, “Stellar Sky” και “Prototypes / Replicas” από το debut.
Μετά από μια περίοδο πειραματισμών και προ-παραγωγής, ο Sidus μπήκε στο στούντιο το 2019 για να ηχογραφήσει το πρώτο του E.P. με τίτλο "Seasons Reversed", μια ορχηστρική, κινηματογραφική, post-rock, metal συλλογή πέντε συνθέσεων, επηρεασμένη από τους God is an Astronaut και Explosions In the Sky αλλά και τους Deftones και τον Hans Zimmer. Το "Seasons Reversed" κυκλοφόρησε τον Νοέμβρίο του 2020, ακολουθούμενο από ένα δεύτερο EP με μια συλλογή από ακουστικά τραγούδια από το ντεμπούτο EP (Envy, Stellar Sky και Prototypes/Replicas).

Bassist Spiros Olivotos and his personal project Sidus present the new single "Pale Dot" which is available from the band's bandcamp page from July 2nd. You can watch the visualiser video below.

About the single
The song is a reference to the photograph of planet Earth taken by the Voyager 1 spacecraft on 14 February 1990. It is also a conceptual continuation of the song "Prototypes / Replicas" which was released in the summer of 2020 and which explores the philosophical question of nature versus nurture.
"Pale Dot" depicts the same existential question from a more distant perspective, observing human behavior and the interaction between humans and our planet from space.
The song is also accompanied by a music video based on Carl Sagan's book "Pale Blue Dot", created by the graphic design project GriangG and the commentary was a collaboration between the artist and Carlos Non Somnia.

Few words about the artist
Sidus is a post rock instrumental one-man band based in Berlin which was formed by bassist Spiros Olivotos who also holds a degree in Geology.
Apart from Sidus, he has been a member of bands of many different genres such as the thrashers Turbulence, the death metallers Kinetic and the pop rockers Dodo Origami as bassist, the metalcorers Breathe in Suffering as guitarist. Furthermore, he has contributed as guest musician in several tracks of bands such as The Abyss Inside Us and Ayfel. He has also participated in the International Composition Competition for animated film at the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron) with the song "Prototypes / Replicas" in 2017.
Alongside his musical activities he is involved in social media management and digital marketing.
